Crasman participated in the Shopify Fusion Partner Day in London, and impressive figures were presented:

  • Sales through Shopify amounted to $9.3 billion during the Black Friday and Cyber Monday weekend (+24% compared to the previous year).
  • 61 million customers have made purchases from Shopify stores.
  • Record-breaking sales of $4.2 million per minute.
  • Over $1.3 billion has been invested in Shopify's product development this year.
  • The platform is developed by more than 4,500 engineers.
  • Gartner: Best capability for digital commerce (Q4/2022).

Shopify is truly handling high loads and evolving at a record pace. This is, of course, great news for both us as vendors and for the customers who have chosen Shopify.
Vendors from all over Europe participated in Partner Days, and three recurring themes were evident in all discussions:
  • A noticeable trend of migration from Adobe, Sales Force, and Commercetool to Shopify.
  • Shopify's strengths lie in ease of use, scalability, and rapid development within the ecosystem.
  • Shopify's B2B e-commerce has enormous growth potential.

Crasman's clients also include those who have transitioned from Magento to Shopify, and several new B2B e-commerce projects are in the works.

    E-commerce Megatrends in EY's Research

Perhaps the most interesting presentation was given by Ernst & Young (EY), which has a network of 52,000 consultants and 1,500 designers. According to their extensive research, companies plan to invest $5 billion in e-commerce by 2026. They see the greatest potential in regulated businesses where high standards and specialized expertise are essential. According to EY's research, consumers are now shifting their purchases to campaigns due to lower prices. Therefore, reliability in handling massive visitor spikes is expected from e-commerce. Young people are willing to pay a little more to get exactly what they want, and overall, consumers' willingness to buy quality has increased.

It is particularly interesting that a consultancy firm like EY, dealing with large clients, often chooses Shopify for major projects. EY highlighted Shopify's scalability, customizability, user-friendliness (for both the company and the customer), and effortless integration (connectors) as selection criteria. EY mentioned that their clients expect immediate customer support, good customer management, and excellent backend expertise from their suppliers. Services are purchased from multiple partners, and cooperation should be seamless.
At the event, it was delightful to notice that there is extensive support available for the Shopify partner network, and Shopify's future looks bright in every aspect.
